The long and dark January is finally over – now we have to survive February. Although: Most of them start a little slower at the beginning of the year and after the Christmas stress anyway – and as long as there is bad weather outside, you can use the time to do something good for yourself. Although it’s nice to relax alone, it’s even more fun for two. Find a girlfriend who has a similar feeling and have a nice, relaxed day.

Or how about a wellness day? Sure, the household budget is not so well filled at the beginning of the year with most. But it doesn’t have to be an expensive spa. You can bring wellness to your home at a reasonable price. Give yourself a spa kit and pack one for your girlfriend, mother or best colleague. You can put it together very easily and it really doesn’t have to be expensive.

A spa kit can contain just about anything to help you relax. Here are a few suggestions:

Face masks (homemade)
loofah sponge
Essential oils
Nail polish and file
body lotion
Ginger shots
Body scrub or hair cures or other homemade beauty articles
Not enough yet? Then just copy some of my DIY beauty products, like my Body Scrub or my shower jellys. In the following I show you the instructions:

DIY Body Scrub / Body Peeling

INGREDIENTS
200g sugar
4 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tbsp clear/white shower gel
Food colouring in red
3 drops scented oil (optional), sugar sprinkles (optional)
100g salt
Preserve jar (to give away)
pendant
baker’s yarn
INSTRUCTION
1 Mix the sugar with the coconut oil and the shower gel.

2 If you notice that the consistency is still too liquid, add the salt. If the consistency is crumbly, leave the salt out.

3 Now add the food coloring and the perfume oil if you like it. Note that the shower gel also has a fragrance. So it might be that this smells enough already.

4 Mix everything well. If you like, you can add the sugar sprinkles. They just look pretty and dissolve in the water immediately.

5 Now pour the Body Scrub into a glass. I used a preserving jar with a swing stopper.

6 If you like, you can hang a small sign on it and tie it with some thread.

DIY Shower Jelly
Materials:
1 packet of ground gelatine (9 g)
250 ml (transparent) shower gel
50 ml water
1 teaspoon salt
food colouring
biodegradable glitterlu
Silicone mold instructions:
1. put salt and gelatine in a saucepan and pour hot water over it Stir until the gelatine has dissolved completely.

Now add the shower gel (preferably a transparent or white one) to the gelatine and stir vigorously again.

Next, colour with the food colour of your choice.

4. if you want to add glitter, please add biodegradable. Since you use it for showering, you should not flush any micro-plastic into the drain. If you don’t have it or don’t want to buy it, you can of course just leave it out. It still looks very nice.

5. take a silicone mould and pour the liquid into it. With this you can be most “creative” here. You can also either take a normal ice cube mould (like the real LUSH Jellys) or take silicone moulds with motifs. For example, I have made many little hearts. But if you are unicorn fans, I would recommend this form*.

6. for at least 2 hours you should cool the mould and let the jelly solidify. It doesn’t have to be in the fridge, but it shouldn’t be warm either.

7. finally take it out and either use it yourself or give it away! For example, you can put it in a can and tie it with a bow. So the person can put the jelly directly into the bathroom.
